Gartner defines a strategic technology trend as one with “substantial disruptive potential that is just beginning to break out of an emerging state into broader impact and use.” Essentially, each trend demonstrates a segment of the industry that has seen rapid growth in 2016 and is expected to reach a tipping point in the market over the next five years.
The trends are broken into three main subcategories:
